WENHAM, Mass. – Sophomore
Catie Iannico scored her first collegiate goal of the season with less than two minutes remaining in regulation to lift the JWU (Providence) women's soccer team to a 3-2 win at Gordon College in Conference of New England (CNE) action Saturday afternoon at the Brighton Athletic Complex.
Junior
Jessica Lee also netted her first two goals of the season as the Wildcats (3-5-1) snapped a three-game losing skid and moved to 2-1-0 in conference play. Junior
Sophia Warburton collected an assist a match which saw JWU outshoot the Fighting Scots 15-9.
Lee staked the visitors to a 1-0 lead 21 minutes into the match before Gordon drew even with under five remaining in the first half. The Fighting Scots jumped in front 2-1 at 73:51, however Lee answered less than five minutes later to tie the match at two. Iannico then pushed JWU into the lead with 1:18 remaining.
Freshman
Kyla Stamilio recorded two saves for head coach
Chris Flint and lifted her record to 2-1-0 thus far in 2025. Lee, meanwhile, led all student-athletes with five shots.
