Faith Miguel scored her first collegiate goal in the second quarter to propel the JWU (Providence) field hockey team to a 1-0 win at Eastern Connecticut State University Friday night in non-conference action at Rick McCarthy Field.

Ava Pontes was credited with an assist on the marker which as the Wildcats knocked off the Warriors in the season-opener for the fourth time in five years. JWU outshot the home team 13-3 behind five shots from junior
Emily Downing.
Following a scoreless first, Miguel potted the only goal of the contest at 22:13 off a feed from Pontes, the 14th of her career. Junior
Sophia Brea recorded one save in 45 minutes of action to notch her 32nd career win.
