NEWTON, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) men's lacrosse team was defeated by Lasell University 9-8 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action Saturday afternoon at Grellier Field.
Senior 
Donny McInnis, along with freshmen 
Jacob Tresser and 
Greyson Doyle, all scored twice for the Wildcats while freshman goalie 
Andrew Sforza turned aside 11 shots. JWU was outshot 39-30.
The Wildcats trailed 5-2 at halftime and 7-2 early in the third before they ripped off six-straight goals to pull ahead, 8-7. Doyle scored a pair in a span of 4:03 to make it 7-4, and Tresser's tally five minutes into the fourth put the visitors up by one.
The Lasers responded by scoring the tying goal 47 seconds after falling behind for the first time and scored the eventual game-winner with 5:53 on the clock.
Reid, Sforza, and sophomore 
Jack Donnelly each picked up three ground balls for the Wildcats while Reid also caused a pair of turnovers.
