Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse edged by Lyons, 11-9

NORTON, Mass. – Senior Madeleine Gould scored seven goals for the JWU (Providence) women's lacrosse team in an 11-9 loss at Wheaton (MA) College Wednesday night in non-conference action at Nordin Field.

Classmate Mila Kuilan and freshman Kelsey Higgins each recorded a goal and an assist as the Wildcats (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season. Senior Neely Connor won eight draw controls and also collected a team-high five ground balls.

JWU held a 4-2 lead after one on goals behind three goals from Gould. The Lyons pulled in front by one (5-4) at halftime and carried a 9-7 lead into the fourth, where Gould scored twice in a span of :11 seconds to tie the game with 12 minutes remaining. The home team then moved in front with 8:29 remaining and added an insurance marker less than three minutes later.

Senior goalkeeper Emma Glyman was credited with 10 saves in a game which saw the Wildcats outshoot the Lyons, 36-30.
