Wildcats stumble at home against Curry

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) women's hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision to Curry College Saturday evening in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Lynch Arena.

The Wildcats (9-11-2, 6-8-2 CNE) outshot the Colonels 20-18 – including 8-4 in the third period – but were stymied by CC netminder Sarah Kerr, who notched her sixth win of the season.

The visitors scored 13 minutes into the first to take a 1-0 lead into the intermission, then struck for two more in the second, one of which came with 1:23 remaining in the period. The closed the scoring with their fourth goal 16 seconds into the third.

Senior Sofia Tamayo stopped 14 shots for JWU, which received six shots from junior Zoe Tow and a pair of blocked shots from both senior Harmony Chicoose and sophomore Sophia Brea.
