Nor'easters clip Wildcats in overtime, 2-1

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Freshman Kailin Kane scored her eighth goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) women's hockey team in a 2-1 overtime loss at the University of New England Friday night in Conference of New England action Friday night at Harold Alfond Forum.

Freshman netminder Katelyn Cardoso turned aside 23 shots and sophomore Brynn Leahy racked up an assist as the Wildcats were outshot25-23. JWU forced OT when Kane found the back of the net with 2:09 remaining in regulation, only to see the Nor'easters secure the win 1:53 into the extra period.

Kane also won a team-high nine face-offs and classmate Ashlyn Libby blocked a team-high three shots.
