JWU closes regular season with loss at Suffolk

EAST BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Kylie O'Keefe scored her fifth goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) women's ice hockey team in a 5-1 loss to Suffolk University Friday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

Sophomores Sophia Brea and freshman Kailin Kane were credited with assists on the goal as the Wildcats (9-14-2, 6-11-1 CNE), who need Nichols College to lose one of its two games this weekend to secure the No. 6 seed in next week's CNE tournament as the No. 6 seed.

JWU – which opened the scoring 3:34 into the contest – was outshot 37-33 and received 32 saves from graduate student Leah White. Freshman Marissa Lafferty won 12 draws and O'Keefe blocked a team-high three shots.
