Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

No. 6 Endicott rallies past Wildcats in OT, 3-2

BEVERLY, Mass. – Sophomores Reagan Safko and Grace Adams found the back of the net for the JWU (Providence) women's ice hockey team in a 3-2 overtime loss to No. 6 Endicott College Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Freshman netminder Avery Hall turned aside 44 shots as the Wildcats (4-4-0, 3-3-0 CNE) were outshot 47-13 on the afternoon. Junior Sadie Davignon and Brynn Leahy, sophomores Jordan Hopping and freshman Ashley Bergeron, were all credited with assists for JWU.

The Wildcats struck for two goals in a span of 1:10 midway through the first to take an early lead. Safko potted her first collegiate marker at 9:25 before Adams' first of the season 70 second later doubled the lead.

The Gulls got one back on the PP in the second before tying the game with 6:30 remaining in regulation. Lilly Corso netted the GWG 1:16 into OT.

Hopping led JWU with five blocked shots while sophomore Ava Morgan won 8-of-16 face-offs. Senior Allyson Barry fired a team-high five shots for the second-straight contest.
