Alvin Baez scored a team-high 14 points for the JWU (Providence) men's basketball team in a 105-47 loss to Brown University Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Baez also snared nine rebounds in 36 minutes of action for the Wildcats (1-11). Freshman
Khalil Thompson collected nine points and three assists while classmate
Omar Grullon netted eight points and two dimes in his collegiate debut.

Colin Rice notched four points and a pair of blocks for JWU, which shot 33 percent from the field (18-of-54) and 89 percent from the charity stripe (8-of-9). The Bears turned 17 Wildcats turnovers into 25 points and knocked down 52 percent of their shots – including 14-of-32 from downtown (44 pct.).
Brown held a 50-24 halftime lead as it canned seven triples while holding the Wildcats to 34 percent shooting in the opening stanza. Seven Bears finished in double-figures, led by Landon Lewis with 19 points.
