Martin scores first of season in one-goal loss to Bison

HARRISVILLE, R.I. – Senior Cam Martin potted his first goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) men's ice hockey team in a 2-1 loss at Nichols College Friday evening in Conference of New England action at Levy Rink.

Junior Connor Nelson and sophomore Cullen Hennessy were credited with assist on the goal which came early in the second and tied the game at one. The loss moves the Wildcats to 2-1-1 on the season heading into tomorrow's contest with the Bison at Lynch Arena at 3 p.m.

The Bison – who scored the game-winner at 13:53 of the third – outshot the Wildcats 39-22. Sophomore netminder Maxim Zinchenko turned aside 37 shots for JWU, who saw senior Davis Bone win 17-of-19 face-offs (89.5 pct.) and both juniors Brad Crook and Joe Freeman each block three shots.
