Lyons hold Wildcats scoreless in non-conference action

NORTON, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) field hockey program fell to Wheaton (MA) College 2-0 Tuesday night in non-conference action at Nordin Field.

The Wildcats (6-5) outshot the Lyons 17-6 but were stymied by goalkeeper Grace Ferguson, who finished with five saves. JWU junior Sophia Brea – who tallied two saves – was victimized by a pair of first-half goals off the stick of Kayla Wilonski.

Juniors Ava Pontes and Emily Downing, along with sophomore Susannah Brown, all registered three shots for the visitors.
