Field Hockey falls at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Junior Emily Downing scored her fourth goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) field hockey team in a 5-1 loss to Connecticut College Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at Silfen Field.

Classmate Hannah Geil notched an assist on the goal as the Wildcats slipped to 8-7 on the season. JWU was outshot 29-5 and allowed 18 penalty corners to the Camels (5-7).

Connecticut College led 3-0 at halftime and 4-0 after three before Downing scored at 50:02. Downing closed the match with a team-high four shots. Junior Sophia Brea registered 10 saves.
