Golden Bears deal Wildcats 4-0 loss

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Junior Sophia Brea notched 15 saves for the JWU (Providence) field hockey team in a 4-0 loss at Western New England University Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Golden Bear Stadium.

The Golden Bears outshot the Wildcats (8-6, 3-3 CNE) by a 29-13 margin and held a 12-4 advantage in penalty corners. Sophomore Susannah Brown led JWU with five shots while junior Ava Pontes recorded three.

WNE led 1-0 after one and scored two more in the second to build a three-goal lead at the half. The Golden Bears capped the scoring with a goal at 42:41.
