PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior
Emily Downing scored a pair of goals to lead the JWU (Providence) field hockey team to a 5-0 win over UMass Dartmouth Wednesday evening in non-conference action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Faith Miguel chipped in with a goal and an assist while senior
Emma Ferrara and junior
Ava Pontes both tallied goals for the Wildcats, who improved to 8-5 on the season.
Ferrara scored the game-winner 10:10 into the match off a pass from senior
Zofia Bangs. Downing then potted her second of the season 4:39 into the second to double the JWU lead heading into halftime.
In the third, Miguel stretched the lead to 3-0 off a pass from Millett before Downing's second of the match at 50:34 made it 4-0. Pontes capped the scoring with her third goal of 2025 late in the fourth.
The Wildcats outshot the Corsairs 36-6 and received two saves from junior
Sophia Brea.
