PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) men's soccer team played to a scoreless tie Tuesday night with the the University of Hartford in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
The Wildcats (6-3-4, 4-1-2 CNE) outshot the Hawks 11-2 – including 10-1 in the second half – but were unable to solve goalkeeper Ryan Lunn, who recorded three saves. The keeper also received some help from the crossbar late in the second half when a shot from junior 
Christopher Vargas eluded him but rang off the iron.
Minutes later, senior 
Carlos Andrade has a pair of chances in front, including a header that was stopped by Lunn. Junior 
Bruno Teixeira also had a solid scoring opportunity in the second half that went wide of the right post.
Junior 
Alexander Nardolillo was credited with one save for JWU, which also held a 10-1 edge in corner kicks. Vargas finished the match with three shots while both Teixeira and Andrade each had a pair.
