Christopher Vargas and freshman 
Ryan Alves scored first-half goals for the JWU (Providence) men's soccer team in a 2-0 win over the University of New England Saturday afternoon on Senior Day in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Ethan L'Italien were each credited with an assist on Vargas' game-winner, which came 6:28 into the match. Alves' first collegiate marker came 28 minutes later in a match which saw the Nor'easters outhshoot the home team 14-7 – including 11-4 over the final 45 minutes.
Vargas picked up his second goal of the season with a shot into the lower right corner. Alves' tally was an upper 90 goal from the right side. Junior 
Alexander Nardolillo recorded five saves to help the Wildcats improve to 7-3-4 on the season (5-1-2 CNE).
