Camels upend Wildcats in non-conference action, 2-1

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Freshman Camila Leiva scored her second goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) women's soccer team in a 2-1 loss at Connecticut College Wednesday evening in non-conference action at Temple Green.

Classmate Kyla Stamilio recorded two saves as the Wildcats were outshot 13-7 and departed Connecticut with 4-6-1 record. Freshman Sofia Soares paced JWU with two shots.

Following a scoreless first half, the Camels moved in front 1-0 with a goal at 58:37. Leiva knotted the score at one with a tally at 63:08 before the home team netted the GWG with 9:58 remaining.

The Wildcats held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
