Izaiah Shaw-Glen scored a game-high 26 points for the JWU (Providence) men's basketball team in an 82-75 loss at Elms College Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Picknelly Arena.
Shaw-Glen also pulled down 17 boards to go with two steals and two blocks for the Wildcats, who also received 17 off the bench from freshman
Roel Figueroa and 14 from graduate student
Sean Duke.
The Wildcats trailed by 11 at the half (39-28) as Figueroa scored nine points and Shaw-Glen netted eight. The Blazers opened the second half in a 15-2 run to open up a 24-point lead less than five minutes into the second half.
JWU responded with a 43-22 run to climb to within four points (77-73) with 1:14 to go behind 16 points from Shaw-Glen, 10 from Duke, eight from Figueroa, and a pair of triples from freshman
Azariah Harrison. The Blazers knocked down 5-of-6 from the charity stripe to lock up their first win of the season.
