Wildcats skate to 2-2 tie with Golden Bears

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Kailin Kane and Grace Adams scored for the JWU (Providence) women's hockey team in a 2-2 tie with Western New England Friday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Olympia Ice Center.

Senior Reese Middendorf was credited with an assist for the Wildcats (7-8-2, 4-5-1 CNE), who saw freshman Katelyn Cardoso stop 28 shots to move to 5-2-2- on the season.

JWU led 1-0 going into the third on Kane's seventh goal of the season. Adams potted her seventh 6:22 into the third to double the lead before the Golden Bears struck for two in the final 10 minutes, including the tying marker with seven seconds remaining.

The Golden Bears went 1-for-4 on the power play and were not penalized on the evening. Middendorf, meanwhile blocked eight shots to increase her team-leading total to 60.
