Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Wildcats fall on road to Bantams, 5-3

HARTFORD, Conn. – Sophomores Brynn Leahy and Sophia Brea, along with freshman Jordan Hopping, found the back of the net for the JWU (Providence) women's ice hockey team in a 5-2 loss at Trinity (CT) College Tuesday night in non-conference action at Koeppel Community Sports Center.

Junior Kylie O'Keefe and freshman Kailin Kane were two of four Wildcats to record assists on the evening. Graduate student Leah White turned aside 29 shots as JWU was outshot 34-14 on the evening.

Hopping's third goal of the season came with 10 seconds remaining in the first and send the game into the first intermission tied at one. The Bantams reeled off the next three goals to build a 4-1 lead before Leahy scored late in the second half bring the Wildcats to within one after 40 minutes of action.

The home team potted a shorthanded goal eight minutes into the third to grab a 5-2 lead. Brea's fifth tuck of 2024-25 capped the scoring with 52 seconds remaining. Senior Cassidy Rockwood blocked four shots and junior Zoe Tow won 11-of-18 face-offs (61 percent).
