Wildcats pull out 2-1 win at Salve Regina

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Sophomores Sophia Brea and Sadie Davignon scored second-period goals for the JWU (Providence) women's hockey team in a 2-1 win at Salve Regina Tuesday night in non-conference women's ice hockey action at Howard Rink.

Senior Reese Middendorf and Brea each collected an assist on the evening as the Wildcats climbed to within a game of .500 at 6-7-1. Freshman netminder Katelyn Cardoso turned aside 26 shots to record her fourth win of the season.

Brea – who led all student-athletes with seven shots – opened the scoring with her fourth of the season 3:26 into the second period before Davignon's second of 2024-25 doubled the lead less than three minutes later. The Seahawks trimmed their deficit to one seven minutes into the third but came away with their seventh loss of the season (8-7-0).
