Seahawks stifle Wildcats, 2-0

MIDDLETOWN, R.I.  – The JWU (Providence) field hockey team was defeated by Salve Regina University 2-0 in non-conference action Wednesday night at Gaudet Field.

The Seahawks scored the only goal they would need 4:37 into the contest before adding an insurance marker with less than seven minutes remaining in the fourth.

Both teams were credited with 18 shots while JWU received four penalty corners, compared to one for the home team.

Graduate student Megan Salsinha and senior Izzy Ward paced the Wildcats with three shots each while sophomore Sophia Brea registered seven saves.
