Women's Soccer defeats Mitchell 7-0 in New London

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The JWU (Providence) women's soccer team remained unbeaten in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action with a 7-0 win at Mitchell College Saturday afternoon at the Mitchell Athletic Complex.

Junior Kylie Schmidt scored her first goal of the season and freshman Alexandra Szelag netted her first collegiate goal as the Wildcats (7-2-0, 6-0-0 GNAC) scored four times in the opening 25:07 and never looked back. Sophomore and reigning GNAC Rookie of the Year Sophia Warburton racked up a goal and two assists while graduate student Madison Sanborn and junior Katie Gallagher each registered a goal and an assist.

Sophomore Grace Sheehan added her team-leading fifth marker of the season 9:10 into the match, and freshman Rowan Garr found the back of the net for the third time in 2024. JWU held a 54-0 edge in shots as sophomore Ava Vaughan and freshman Morgan Presby combined for the shutout.
