No. 23 Brandeis hands Wildcats 2-1 loss

WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore Jessica Lee scored her second goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) women's soccer team in a 2-1 loss at No. 23 Brandeis University Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Gordon Field.

Graduate student Madison Sanborn was credited with an assist on Lee's tally, which came with 4:41 remaining in the match. Senior Leah Bragaw got the start in goal and allowed a pair of goals to go along with one save; classmate Carly McCrumb played the second half and stopped three shots.

The Judges struck for two goals in a span of 9:20 in the opening stanza and carried a 2-0 lead into the half. After Lee brought JWU (5-2-0) to within one, she had a chance to tie the game with less than two minutes remaining, nearly converting a play which began on a corner kick into the equalizer.

Brandeis outshot the Wildcats 13-9.
