Field Hockey leaves Salem State with 4-0 win

SALEM, Mass. – Graduate student Megan Salsinha picked up her first collegiate hat trick for the JWU (Providence) field hockey team in a 4-0 win at Salem State University Wednesday evening in non-conference action.

Senior Haley Budenas added a pair of assists for the Wildcats, who evened their record at 3-3 on the season. Sophomore Elaina Fseisi also scored as JWU outshot the Vikings 23-1 and held a 16-1 edge in penalty corners.

Salsinha scored the only goal the visitors would need 6:31 into the contest off a pass from Budenas. She then added markers with two seconds remaining in the opening stanza and less than four minutes into the second pushed the lead to 3-0. Fseisi capped the scoring with her first goal of the season at 29:54.

Making her second-straight start, junior Rebecca Johnson recorded one save to move to 2-0 on the season.
