Volleyball stumbles against Lancers, Leopards

BOSTON, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) women's volleyball team suffered defeats at the hands of Worcester State University and Wentworth Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Tansey Gymnasium.

Lancers 3, Wildcats 2 (25-19, 18-25, 16-25, 25-14, 12-15)
Graduate student Peyton Oliver paced JWU with 12 kills while freshman Nevaeh Arnold notched 10 and classmate Bailey Koopman tallied seven. Freshman Sophia Diphilippo handed out a match-high 26 assists, and Oliver, Diphilippo, and freshman Skylar Winchester all picked up nine digs.

Leopards 3, Wildcats 0 (19-25, 16-25, 12-25)
Oliver led the offense with 10 kills while Diphilippo collected a team-leading 18 assists and seven digs. The Wildcats posted a solid .304 hitting percentage in the opening set but posted a .094 percentage the rest of the way. Junior Ajie Jagne was one of four JWU student-athletes to record three kills against Wentworth.
