NEW LONDON, Conn. – The JWU (Providence) baseball team saw its 2024 campaign come to a close with a 5-4 loss at Mitchell College Friday afternoon in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship at Alumni Field.
Senior

The Wildcats entered the ninth trailing 5-1 before a pair of two-out hits made it a one-run game. Juan plated Obert with a double to left to make it 5-2, followed by a single to right off the bat of Hasson that brought in Juan and junior

Owen Davis for the third out.
JWU sophomore
Aidan Vining allowed nine hits and four runs in eight innings of work to see his final record move to 6-2. He walked one and struck out seven, holding the top-seeded Mariners (32-11) to one run through seven before surrendering five hits and three runs in the eighth.
