PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) softball team swept a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader from New England College Sunday afternoon at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Game One: Wildcats 5, Pilgrims 1

Hailey Erickson went 3-for-4 with two singles and an RBI, and sophomore
Mady Lyons laced two doubles and drove in one for JWU, which picked up 11 hits. Senior

Jessica Forneiro each plated a run with a sac fly, and junior
Caroline Amorelli smacked her second home run of the season in support of junior
Katie Scheid, who scattered seven hits and fanned five in route to her fifth win of the season.
Game Two: Wildcats 11, Pilgrims 2 (six innings)
The Wildcats blew the game open with seven runs in the sixth, highlighted by RBI doubles off the bat of Erickson, Lyons, Huzi, junior
Mackenzie Clee, and junior
Gabby Colace, and an RBI triple from freshman
Macy Pagano. Clee also went yard and finished 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI while Forneiro collected three hits and Erickson recorded three RBI. Senior
Sage Borkowski earned her first win of 2024, allowing three hits and one run in five innings of work.
