Babb racks up seven points in 10-6 win at Simmons

BRIGHTON, Mass. – Sophomore Izzy Babb racked up a career-high seven points for the JWU (Providence) women's lacrosse team in a 10-6 win at Simmons University Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Daly Field.

Babb scored three times and added four assists for the Wildcats (11-4, 9-1 GNAC), who have won three-straight and 10 of their last 11. Senior Maris DiBeneditto added three goals and an assist while senior Katie Sloan and junior Madeleine Gould each scored twice.

JWU led 4-1 after one and 6-2 at halftime as DiBeneditto and Gould each netted two goals, and Babb handed out three assists in the opening 30 minutes. Babb collected her second goal with 4:29 remaining in the third to make it an 8-3 game before polishing off the hat trick two minutes into the fourth.

Junior Emma Glyman turned aside a career-high 19 shots to improve to 11-4 on the season. Junior Isabella Nugent paced the visitors with seven draw controls while classmate Neely Connor was credited with four caused turnovers.
