NEWTON, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) softball team was swept in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader by Lasell University Saturday afternoon at Taylor Field.

Hailey Erickson belted her second home run of the season, and senior
Julia Huzi plated another with a sac fly for the Wildcats. The Lasers broke a three-all tie with a pair in the bottom of the sixth to make it 5-3 before Erickson's round tripper leading off the seventh cut the visitors deficit to one with no outs. Junior
Mackenzie Clee allowed five hits and five runs with four walks and two strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work in defeat.

Caroline Amorelli picked up two hits for JWU, which saw the Lasers score seven runs in the fifth against junior starter
Katie Scheid. The Hightstown, New Jersey native surrendered seven hits and seven runs in 4.1 innings of work to move to 8-6 on the season.
