Donny McInnis scored five goals for the JWU (Providence) men's lacrosse team in a 13-6 win over Albertus Magnus College Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Freshman
Jack Davis added five points on three goals and two assists for the Wildcats, who improved to 9-4 on the season (7-1 GNAC). Senior
Hayden Haldane netted a pair of third-period markers while freshman
Jacob Graham racked up three points (1-2-3) and graduate student
Mike Catuosco won 17-of-19 face-offs and finished with 15 ground balls.
The Wildcats opened the second half with seven unanswered goals – including two from both McInnis and Haldane – to turn a 5-4 halftime deficit into an 11-5 lead. Davis and graduate student
Greg Centeio added fourth-quarter goals to seal the win.
JWU outshot the Falcons 54-21 and forced 24 turnovers. Senior
Andrew Carroll was credited with four ground balls and caused a turnover while Centeio, junior
Kyle Marcinko, and freshman
Jake Inzirillo each notched three GB's.
