PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) softball team was swept in a home non-conference doubleheader with UMass Dartmouth Wednesday afternoon at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Game One: Corsairs 9, Wildcats 1 (5 inn.)

Mackenzie Clee went 2-for-3 with a solo home run for the Wildcats. Classmate
Katie Scheid surrendered six his and six runs with three strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work as she fell to 6-4 on the season. The Corsairs broke the game open in the fourth, scoring five runs – four of which came on a grand slam off the bat of Liv Matos.
Game Two: Corsairs 10, Wildcats 8
UMass Dartmouth rallied from an 8-3 deficit for three in the sixth and four in the seventh to secure their 13th win of the season. A two-run home run from senior

Mady Lyons helped the Wildcats jump out to a five-run lead after five. The visitors pounded out nine hits in the final two frames, highlighted by a three-run homer in the seventh from Olivia Silva that gave UMD their first lead of the game at 10-8. JWU sophomore
Jillian Reed allowed 14 hits and nine runs to go with four punchouts in 6.2 IP.
