Softball clipped by Adrian, blanks Otterbein

CLERMONT, Fla. – The JWU (Providence) softball team rebounded from an 8-7 loss to Adrian College to defeat Otterbein University Thursday at The Spring Games in Clermont, Fla.

Bulldogs 8, Wildcats 7
Senior Hailey Erickson collected three hits and drove in two runs and junior Caroline Amorelli recorded a pair of RBI singles for the Wildcats. Junior Mackenzie Clee picked up two hits and scored twice for JWU, which led 7-4 heading to the bottom of the seventh.

Wildcats 1, Cardinals 0
Erickson finished the contest 3-for-3 and plated the only run of the game with a single to right in the third. Senior Julia Huzi and freshman Gabby Bellamore also registered a hit for the Wildcats in support of junior Katie Scheid, who scattered six hits and fanned eight to earn her second win of the season.
