Madeleine Gould scored three goals and added two assists for the JWU (Providence) women's lacrosse team in a 14-6 loss to Coast Guard Wednesday afternoon in the season-opener at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Neely Connor also scored for the Wildcats, who received 11 saves from junior goalie
Emma Glyman. The Bears outshot JWU 35-19 and forced 23 turnovers, which helped them score 10 of the first 10 goals of the contest to build a 10-2 halftime lead.
Gould led the Wildcats with four draw controls while Connor collected a pair of ground balls and also won two draw controls. Senior
Katie Sloan caused a team-high three turnovers.
