Beacons score late to edge Wildcats, 2-1

BOSTON, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) women's ice hockey team was dealt a 2-1 loss by UMass Boston Friday night in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action at Barry Ice Rink.

Sophomore Alexia Labre scored for the Wildcats, who saw the Beacons score the game-winning goal with 13 seconds remaining in regulation. Junior Cassidy Rockwood was credited with an assist on Labre's tally.

JWU was outshot 36-21 on the evening as both Rockwood and junior Reese Middendorf blocked two shots. Junior netminder Sofia Tamayo turned aside 34 shots between the pipes.
