PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) women's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season on Monday night, a 70-61 setback to Connecticut College in non-conference at the Wildcat Center.
Freshman
Brianne Foley scored a team-high 16 points to go with five boards and three dimes as the Wildcats slipped to 6-1 on the season. Classmate
Grace Jaffray collected 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists while sophomore
Alexa Lora dropped in 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
Each team shot 39 percent from the field, however this game was decided on the glass as the Camels held a 52-35 edge in rebounds, highlighted by a 14-point, 15-rebound effort from Addi Hunter. Junior
Mikayla Caruso snared a team-high nine boards for JWU, which turned 20 turnovers into 14 points while scoring 26 points on the break.
The Camels held a nine-point halftime lead at 39-30 as Jaffray paced the home team with 10 points. The lead grew to 16 after three (58-42) as many as 19 in the fourth. A quick 11-2 run brought the Wildcats to within 10 with less than two minutes on the clock before time ran out.

Isabella Suero closed the night with nine points in 35 minutes.
