Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Wildcats clipped at home by Gulls, 3-1

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Freshman Grace Adams scored her third goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) women's hockey team in a 3-1 loss to Endicott College Friday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Lynch Arena.

Freshman Marissa Lafferty and senior Madi Fox were credited with assists on the goal as the Wildcats moved to 4-5-0 on the season (4-4-0 CNE). The Gulls (7-3-0, 5-2-0 CNE) outshot JWU 42-19 – including 19-3 in the second – and scored a pair of third-period goals to grab the win.

Adams opened the scoring 8:06 into the game with a wrister from the left circle that beat goaltender Casey Moritz. Lily Anderson tied the game for Endicott 55 seconds into the second and later potted the game-winner at 10:01 of the third. The Gulls added an insurance marker five minutes later.

Freshman netminder Katelyn Cardoso turned aside a career-high 39 shots and fell to 3-2-0 on the season. JWU went 0-for-3 on the PP and saw both senior Reese Middendorf and freshman Kailin Kane blocked four shots each.
