Wildcats rally to force OT in 4-3 loss to No. 15 Endicott

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Sophomore Harout Torosian and junior Davis Bone scored 47 seconds apart late in the third period to force overtime in a 4-3 overtime loss for the JWU (Providence) men's ice hockey team to No. 15 Endicott College Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Lynch Arena.

Freshman netminder Maxim Zinchenko turned aside 40 shots for the Wildcats (2-4-1, 2-3-1 CNE), who trailed 3-1 before goals from Torosian at 16:44 and Bone at 17:31 forced the extra session. Sophomore Ryan Walsh scored his second goal in four games for JWU while freshman Cullen Hennessy forced a turnover behind the Endicott net which led to Bone's game-tying marker for his third assist of the season.

JWU fell behind 2-0 in the first before senior Sam Band set up Walsh for a shot that found the back of the net at 19:59. The Gulls outshot the Wildcats 14-1 in the second and pushed their lead to 3-1 with a goal at 14:42.

In the third, Torosian's second of the season with assists going to sophomores Brad Crook and Joe Freeman brought JWU to within one at 3-2. Bone then tied the game with a shot from the slot and capped a period in which the visitors held a slim 13-12 edge in shots. Jackson Sterrett ended the contest 42 seconds into OT.

The Wildcats blocked 26 shots, including three by graduate student Noel Parker, and freshmen Joseph Sciabarra and Luke Gaffney.
