Men's hockey puts up a touchdown at Wentworth

EVERETT, Mass. – Senior Sam Band was one of five JWU (Providence) men's ice hockey student-athletes to collect two points in a 6-1 win against Wentworth Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England action at Allied Veterans Skating Rink.

Senior Kadyn Fennell (1 G, 1 A), sophomores Harout Torosian (1 G, 1 A) and Chris Alexander (2 A), and freshman Bret Beale (2 G) all posted multi-point games as the Wildcats improved to 2-2-1 on the season (2-1-1 CNE). JWU closed the game with five-straight goals and outshot the Leopards 40-26 as sophomore Jake Inzirillo stopped 25 of 26 to improve to 2-1-1 on the season.

Torosian potted a power-play goal 1:01 after the Leopards tied the game to put the visitors up 2-1 early in the second. Later, Fennell put in a short-handed goal and Bone scored off a feed from graduate student Conner Lindsoe to make it 4-1 after two periods.

In the third, a PP goal from Beale at 5:08 and an empty-netter from Martin with 3:40 remaining sealed the Wildcats second road win of the season.
