Salsinha scores twice in 2-0 win at Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. –  The JWU (Providence) field hockey team remained unbeaten in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with a 2-0 win over Albertus Magnus College Tuesday afternoon at Celentano Field.

Graduate student Megan Salsinha scored a pair of second-quarter goals for the Wildcats, who improved to 9-3 on the season and 6-0 in conference play. JWU outshot the Falcons 24-0 and took 17 penalty corners.

Sophomore and reigning GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year Sophia Brea played the first 45 minutes for head coach Lisa Lopes and moved to 5-3 with the win. Salsinha led all student-athletes with three shots.
