BRISTOL, R.I. – Sophomore Christopher Vargas scored the game-winning goal 20 minutes into the match to propel the JWU (Providence) men's soccer team to a 2-0 win at Roger Williams University Monday afternoon in non-conference action at Bayside Field.

Senior Conner Elliott also found the back of the net for the Wildcats (10-1-1), who ran their unbeaten streak to 10 matches (9-0-1). Juniors Carlos Andrade and Dominic Marino picked up assists for JWU, which held a slim 8-7 edge in shots and saw senior Declan Caster record two saves.

The Wildcats jumped ahead 1-0 on Vargas deposited a feed from Marino into the lower right corner of the net at 20:54. Elliott doubled the lead with his fourth goal of 2024 as his shot found the lower left corner.

Elliott and Marino led the visitors with two shots apiece.
