JWU scores twice in second half in 2-0 win over Saints

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Sophia Warburton and freshman Jamie Davies each scored goals for the JWU (Providence) women's soccer team in a 2-0 over Emmanuel (MA) College Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Clemente Field.

Graduate student Madison Sanborn and junior MacKenna Renaud were credited with assists on Davies' goal as the Wildcats (8-3-0) remained unbeaten in conference play at 7-0-0. The Saints - who entered the match leading the nation in scoring - held a slim 10-9 edge in shots.

Warburton scored the only goal the visitors would need 32 seconds into the second half. Davies added an insurance marker at 71:36 – her fifth of the season – to help the Wildcats secure a win in a rematch of last season's GNAC Championship match.

Senior Leah Bragaw came on in relief of classmate Carly McCrumb to start the second half in goal and recorded one save to move her record to 4-1-0 on the season. Davies led JWU with three shots.
