Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

JWU secures No. 1 seed in GNAC with shutout at St. Joseph's (ME)

STANDISH, Maine – Sophomore Grace Sheehan scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) women's soccer team in a 3-0 win at St. Joseph's (ME) Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the SJC Athletic Complex.

Freshman Jamie Davies and senior Katherine Dufour added insurance markers for the Wildcats, who secured the No. 1 seed in the conference playoffs for the fifth-consecutive season. With the win, JWU improved to 15-3-1 and, with a win or tie on Tuesday against Norwich, can close the GNAC regular season slate without a loss for the fourth-straight year.

Sheehan potted the only goal JWU would need 1:56 into the match. Davies doubled the visitors lead at 25:18 with her seventh of the season off a pass from sophomore and reigning GNAC Rookie of the Year Sophia Warburton.

Dufour capped the scoring at 78:25 with her second tally of 2024. Classmate Leah Bragaw played the opening 45 minutes and did not allow a goal to improve to 4-1-0 on the season. Sophomore Ava Vaughan played the second half for the Wildcats between the posts. JWU held a 23-1 edge in shots.
