JWU sweeps home tri-match with Rivier, Norwich

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) women's volleyball team swept a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match with Rivier University and Norwich University Saturday at the Wildcat Center.

Wildcats 3, Raiders 1 (29-27, 25-23, 21-25, 25-14)
The Wildcats saw three student-athletes – graduate student Peyton Oliver, and freshmen Finleigh Benkwitt and Skylar Winchester – reach double-figures in kills in a four-set win. Winchester led all student-athletes with 14 to go with eight digs while Benkwitt tallied 11 and Oliver notched 10, along with 11 digs and three service aces. Junior Sierra Nausieda chalked up a career-high 28 digs and freshman Nevaeh Arnold nearly racked up a triple-double with 21 assists, nine kills and eight digs. JWU posted a ridiculous .571 hitting pct. in the fourth set, highlighted by a flawless six-kill set from Winchester (1.000 hitting pct.).

Wildcats 3, Cadets 0 (25-8, 25-11, 25-11)
Arnold paced JWU with 12 kills and an outstanding .857 hitting pct. while Oliver recorded seven kills and a hitting pct. of .467. Senior Myla Domazet picked up two kills, as did freshmen Annie Jerome and Hannah Pereira. Sophomore Drew Leonardis posted a match-high 10 digs and freshman Sophia Diphilippo handed out 16 assists.
