Davies late tally gives Wildcats 1-0 win over Lasers

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Freshman Jamie Davies scored the only goal of the match with 4:36 remaining in the match to propel the JWU (Providence) women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Lasell University Saturday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Senior Day at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Classmate Rowan Garr set up Davies six goal of the season at 85:24 of the match to send the Wildcats to their fourth-straight win and lift their record to 11-3-0 (9-0-0 GNAC). The senior goalkeeper tandem of Leah Bragaw and Carly McCrumb combined to make two saves; McCrumb registered the win and is now 5-2-0 thus far in 2024.

The Wildcats outshot the visitors 14-2 in the first half and closed the match with a 24-3 advantage, however they were unable to break the scoreless tie until late in the second half. Junior Katie Gallagher sent the ball to Garr at the top of the box, and she played it to Davies on her right. Davies then cut back and let go of a shot that found the far left corner for the winner.

Prior to the start of the match, the program honored seniors Bragaw, McCrumb, Angelina Oliveira, Daryl Monticello, Katherine Dufour, Emily DeRoehn, Skyla Landry, and Lindsey McNeill.
