CANTON, Mass. – The JWU-Providence men's ice hockey team was defeated by Curry College 3-1 Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at the Canton Ice House.
Sophomore
Brendan Doyle scored his 13th goal of the season and third in four games for the Wildcats, who were outshot 36-20. Senior netminder
Jaxon Friedman turned aside 33 shots against a Curry squad which won 30-of-46 face-offs.
JWU trailed 1-0 entering the second when Doyle knotted the score 33 seconds into the stanza with assists going to sophomores
Cam Martin and
Davis Bone. Curry moved back in front on a goal from Austan Bellefeuille at 11:38 and added an insurance marker six minutes into the third.
Senior
Ryo Namiki led the Wildcats in blocked shots with six while both Doyle and senior
Hayden Haldane took four shots.
