Wildcats upended by No. 14 Skidmore, 4-1

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Freshman Chris Alexander scored his second collegiate goal in JWU-Providence's 4-1 loss to Skidmore College Friday night in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's hockey action at the Saratoga.

Junior netminder Jacob Perrin turned aside 45 shots for the Wildcats, who were outshot 49-18 and went 0-for-1 on the PP. The Thoroughbreds closed the night 1-for-5 with the man advantage and saw seven different student-athletes register at least one point, led by Jacob Franczak (2-1-3) and Jack Strauss (1-2-3) with three points apiece.

The Wildcats trailed 2-0 after one and 3-0 midway through the second before Alexander's marker at 9:00 brought the visitors to within two after 40 minutes of play. Skidmore added an insurance goal on the power play 6:37 into the third.

Sophomore Brendan Doyle paced JWU with five shots while senior Ryo Namiki blocked a team-high three shots. Sophomore Davis Bone won 15 of 25 face-offs.
