ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The JWU-Providence women's ice hockey team was defeated by Nichols College 3-0 Friday evening in non-conference action at the New England Sports Village.

Senior Leah White turned aside18 shots for the Wildcats, who outshot the Bison 13-6 in the third to finish the night with a 28-21 edge in that category. Graduate student Sara Cruise won 14 of her 20 draws (70 percent) while junior Harmony Chicoose was one of four student-athletes with four blocked shots.

The Bison scored three times on 10 shots in the second period behind senior Grace Melanson, who racked up a goal and an assist. Junior netminder McKenzie Muir stopped all 28 shots she faced to record her first collegiate shutout.
