Sara Cruise scored the game-winning goal 52 seconds into overtime to lift the JWU-Providence women's ice hockey team to a 3-2 win over Plymouth State University Friday night in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's hockey action at the New England Sports Village.

Zoe Tow also scored for the Wildcats, who outshot the Panthers 36-31. Junior
Madi Fox assisted on the game-winner while classmates
Jianna Truppi and
Reese Middendorf collected assists on Tow's marker.
The Panthers fought back from a 2-0 deficit to force overtime by scoring once in the second and the tying goal 11:02 into the third. In overtime, Fox carried the puck around a defender and towards the net before feeding Cruise for her third tuck of the season.
Cruise opened the scoring at 15:20 of the first when she stole the puck from a PSU defender and whipped a shot towards the net that trickled through the legs of netminder Amelia Julian. JWU doubled its lead with 58 seconds remaining in the stanza on Tow's second marker of the season. Truppi carried the puck into the zone and let go of a shot that was stopped by Julian, however the puck fell behind her and Tow tucked in into the net.
Junior
Sofia Tamayo turned aside 29 shots for her first win of the season. Julien finished with 33 for the Panthers, who received goals from Sophia Streed and Laura Castronova.
