Doyle nets two in loss at USM

GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore Brendan Doyle scored twice for the JWU (Providence) men's ice hockey team in a 6-2 loss to the University of Southern Maine Friday night in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action USM Ice Arena.

Seniors Declan Dennehy and Conner Lindsoe each registered an assist for the Wildcats, who were outshot 34-27. Freshman Jake Inzirillo got the start in goal and allowed four first-period goals before being lifted in favor of senior Jaxon Friedman, who played the final 40 minutes and stopped 18 shots.

Doyle opened the scoring 4:29 into the contest before the Huskies scored four times in a span of 12:03 to move in front 4-1. Doyle's 16th goal of the season 29 seconds into the second brought JWU within two at 4-2, but the Huskies scored twice in the third to pull away.
